Ali Landry BIOGRAPHY

Ali Landry was born on July 21, 1973 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She stands a striking five foot eight inches tall, with stunning brown hair and mesmerizing brown eyes. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a major in Mass Communications. Ali's sweet and outgoing personality made it easy for her to win the hearts of her sisters in the Kappa Delta Sorority at USL. Ali Landry's "big break" was winning the prestigious title of Miss USA 1996; from there her career sky-rocketed. Her most acclaimed role as the "Doritos Girl" began with her first commercial in the Super Bowl of 1998, with such a high response that Ali was asked to appear again during Super Bowl 1999. Ali's love of animals made her a natural as the host of UPN's "America's Greatest Pets," and she herself has a Shih-Tzu named Cosmo. Ali had recurring roles on such shows as Pensacola: Wings of Gold, The Bold and the Beautiful, Sunset Beach, Clueless and Significant Others. When she is not acting Ali Landry enjoys the great outdoors and listening to Classic '70s rock. She was also named one of People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People" in 1998. Landry has done much modeling for photographers and magazines, and she specializes in swimsuit and lingerie modeling. As a spokeswoman for the Doritos chips company, she appeared in celebrated TV commercials airing during the 1998 and 1999 Super Bowl football games. A trained gymnast, she still required hours of takes to get the seconds of footage of her doing acrobatic stunts right for the commercials. From 2003 to 2006, she was a regular cast member of the UPN sitcom Eve. Landry has participated in the show Fear Factor, and was runner up. She is an avid athlete and also participated in the Boston Marathon. Landry married longtime boyfriend Mario Lopez on April 24, 2004, but two weeks later she had the marriage annulled.[citation needed] She became engaged to film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on Memorial Day, 2005. They were married on April 8, 2006 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.[citation needed] They made a film together called Bella.
