Carmen
Electra
BIOGRAPHY
Born
April 20, 1972 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tara Leigh Patrick has become
the bad girl of female celebritydom. Tara changed her name to
Carmen Electra before releasing her first self titled album in
1992. She had been discovered by The Artist Formerly Known as
Prince and the album was released under his Paisley Park label.
While reports indicate that the two were a couple Electra denied
such claims in her appearance in Playboy magazine in June of 1997.
She did have some success with the tune Go-go Dancer but largely
her musical career was a flop. Electra carried her popularity
on with a role in Good Burger and landed Jenny McCarthy's departed
position on MTV's Remote Control in the same year, while on top
of that landing a role in Baywatch playing the part of Lani McKensie.
Her stint on Baywatch lasted two years before she decided to hang
it up and concentrate on a film career, one which largely has
been unsuccessful, with roles in Starstruck and Chosen One: The
Legend of the Raven in 1998. Electra is scheduled to appear in
Scary Movie in 2000 as well. What has gotten Carmen more attention
though is her relationship with basketball nut case Dennis Rodman.
The two have engaged in an on-again off-again relationship since
1997 which included a marriage that was allegedly arranged by
Electra when Rodman was drunk (although it would be hard to arrange
any event with Rodman sober, as the LA Lakers have found out!).
When asked what she saw in Dennis, Carmen has said "I've always
wanted to marry a drag queen and he loves dressing up in women's
clothes - plus he has a nice butt." The marriage quickly fizzled
but the two have remained close throughout, though both have had
their hands in the 'cookie jar' so to speak. Published reports
claim that when Carmen spotted Dennis in bed with two women in
a hotel room, she stormed out and told Dennis she was heading
to Ohio to meet with family but truthfully she was going to get
even with Rodman by having her own fling with former Motley Crue
drummer Tommy Lee after he was released from jail for beating
his wife, Pamela Anderson. The two spent a few days in a hotel
room together themselves while Motley Crue was on tour and when
the Crue moved on to their next gig, she returned to California.
The two also were reportedly living with each other for some time
in Tommy's mansion. Soon after, Rodman found out about the fling
and was livid. Rodman had Tommy so scared he hired a full time
body guard to protect him from the 6'8 tattooed mammoth. In a
show in Vegas, Rodman motioned for the Motley Crue drummer to
join him in the audience and later tried to get backstage, but
was resisted by security. Pamela also had a very jealous reaction,
as her reading about the affair in The Enquirer reportedly was
the main reason the two got back together for the third time.
She apparently called Carmen and exclaimed "You leave my man alone!"
and slammed down the phone. Electra was told to have been furious
when Tommy called and told her the relationship was over, since
she reportedly had expected to be the next Mrs. Lee. Electra's
other relationships were with Cypress Hill's B-Real and Limp Bizkit
frontman Fred Durst. She also has spent some time partying with
former Baywatch star (he played David Hasselhof's son) and recovering
drug addict Jeremy Jackson. Jackson told the Enquirer recently
"I would come to work high and then Carmen Electra and I would
go out and party all night. I was underage, but that didn't stop
me from getting into all of the hottest clubs in Los Angeles."
Most recently, she has gotten back together with Dennis and was
arrested in Miami's Bentley Hotel with Rodman for a domestic dispute.
Charges against the two were later dropped. The controversial
Donna D'Errico, her former Baywatch co-star, recently smacked
Carmen with the insult that she was a "Celebrity Leech"... It
should be interesting to see if this wild gal settles down and
focuses on her acting career or if she winds up like the many
other celebrities that let fame and fortune get to their heads.
