ANISTON AIRS HER BARCLAYCARD

Hollywood superstar JENNIFER ANISTON is unveiled as the new face of credit card giant BARCLAYCARD tonight (14JUN04) when the first in a series of advertisements for the company hits our screens.
The advertisement, which gets it's inaugural airing during the 9:45pm showing of Coronation Street, will mark the now ex-Friends star's first subsequent major British TV appearance since the popular US sitcom concluded last month (MAY04).
The latest custodian of the card represents a fresh, feminine direction change for the company who have hitherto focused upon male figures. Eagle-eyed viewers will recall previous Barclaycard faces included urbane traveller Alan Whicker and Rowan Atkinson as a bumbling secret agent. However, Aniston will have to sharpen her acting skills if she hopes to make the same impact as Barclays Bank face Samuel L Jackson, who's blunt monologues have entranced TV and cinema audiences alike.
